Many of you know that I just returned from a trip to South Asia. A friend of mine, Joey Shaw was also there, having arrived a few days before me for the same event. The day before I arrived, Joey and two other friends were attacked and Joey was knifed across the face ending up with 35 stitches. I am posting this link to Joey’s blog about the event. http://www.austinstone.org/current/god_gospel_mission/lessons_from_a_razor/ It is more than inspirational to read Joey’s reflections on what happened. This is Provocative Christianity at its finest. Joey my friend, you continue to be a hero in my book. When I grow up I want to be more like you than I am like me.
Yeah, I just returned from Nigeria facilitating a crisis response workshops for missionaries who encounter these types of events. They happen so much and most folks in the West are unaware.
dear dan,
you are a hero in my book!! seriously! please keep “provoking” all of us to cut clear of cultural religion and stay focused on the written Word and on our Master!
onward,
joey
Joey,
Did you have to say, “cut” clear of cultural religion? 🙂
Amazing Christianity!
I can’t help it.
I posted it in my own blog here: http://your-dailyword.blogspot.com/2009/11/test-of-true-christianity.html
Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you Mike for all your encouragement and for serving the Lord so faithfully.
